Ataahua 2017 Riesling

This Riesling was made from grapes sourced from a local vineyard in Waipara. The fruit was carefully handled to produce a wine with distinct and unique characters resulting in a wine that is deliciously crisp and refreshing with flavours reminiscent of ripe citrus and stonefruit. Made in a medium to off-dry style (~20g/L residual sweetness), this wine is ideal as an aperitif and also wonderful when matched with many foods including fresh seafood and many chicken dishes incorporating ginger and lemon. Serve chilled.

Invitingly scented, this is a gently sweet medium bodied wine. Citrusy and peachy with a hint of honey, it has balanced acidity and excellent flavour intensity.

Beautifully ripe and fragrant, the immediately appealing bouquet shows lemon curd, spiced apple, orange peel and subtle honey complexity. The palate delivers excellent focus and juicy fruit intensity, backed by a hint of sweetness, which is perfectly balanced by refreshing acidity, leading to a lingering tasty finish.
