Pinot Noir, being one of the most difficult grapes to grow well, has shown on many occasions to be one of the varieties most suited to the soils and climate of the Waipara Valley, producing exceptional wines of elegance and style. This wine is no exception. Hand harvested in perfect condition the grapes were sorted and destemmed before fermentation, then gently pressed before the resulting wine matured in seasoned French oak barrels. This Pinot Noir has a rich bouquet of ripe berryfruit and cherries with hints of earthy forest floor and mushrooms. The palate is elegantly well balanced with silky tannins and a lingering finish. Serve with Coq au vin or duck and roasted mushrooms.
Earthy, mineral, dusty and gently smoky bouquet. Dry, tense and youthful on the palate with firm tannins and acidity to match. A core of red berry fruit adds contrast to the youthful textures -
cherry, plum and cranberry notes. Moderate+ ish length, persistent and consistent flavours and textures. Needs food for the moment, cellar time preferred. Best from 2020 through 2025.
Richly fruited and fragrant, the engaging bouquet shows dark cherry, smoked game, nutmeg and
warm spice characters with subtle earthy mushroom complexity. The palate is concentrated and
supple, and delivers lovely fruit intensity and silky texture, wonderfully framed by plenty of fine,
polished tannins. At its best: now to 2021.
