Ataahua 2017 Sauvignon Blanc

This wonderfully fresh and lively wine has been made completely from grapes grown in the warm dry Waipara Valley. The fine balance between the natural acidity and the mouthwatering flavours of tangy gooseberries and ripe passionfruit make this wine instantly appealing. Delicious served with fresh seafood, chicken and a wide range of vegetarian foods.

Michael Cooper - New Zealand Wines 2017

Note: This review is for the 2014 vintage:
Drinking well now, the 2014 vintage is a pale lemon/green, mouth-filling wine with strong, ripe melon, passionfruit and lime flavours, woven with fresh acidity, and a crisp, dry (less than 3 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish.

4.5 STARS Sam Kim, Wine Judge and Editor of Wine Orbit

It's delicately fragrant on the nose displaying stone fruit, apple, dried herb and flinty aromas, leading to a juicy palate that's finely textured and lingering. The wine flows beautifully. Not your typical punchy sauvignon, this is textured and elegant, and very persistent on the finish. At its best: now to 2019.
